Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Clayton Kershaw was named NL MVP, beating out Pittsburgh Pirates outfielder Andrew McCutchen and Miami Marlins outfielder Giancarlo Stanton.
Kershaw becomes the first pitcher to win the NL MVP and Cy Young since Bob Gibson did so in 1968. He's the 11th pitcher to win the MVP in either league, the first since Justin Verlander won the AL award in 2011.
Kershaw went 21-3 on the season with a 1.77 ERA and 239 strikeouts on the season.
