We're less than three weeks away from the 2015 MLB trade deadline, which means there are plenty of rumors swirling around the Los Angeles Dodgers and what they might do on the trade market. Here are three trades they could make by the deadline:
Trade P Jose De Leon, IF/OF Darnell Sweeney, and P Chris Reed to Reds for Johnny Cueto
Cueto is the ace of the trade market, and the Dodgers have a tendancy to swing for the fences. Giving up three of their top prospects would be tough, but doing so to land a pitcher like Cueto would make their pitching staff that much more untouchable. The Dodgers won't settle for anything less than a World Series run this year, and having three aces on their staff (Kershaw, Grienke, Cueto) would make them extremely tough to beat
Trade OF Alex Verdugo, P Chris Anderson to White Sox for Jeff Samardzija
Samardzija isn't having the best year, but he's still one of the best pitchers on the trade market. The White Sox appear to be determined to get rid of him, and the Dodgers could go after him as a backup option if they lose out on Cueto or don't want to give up the plethora of prospects it'll likely take to get him.
Trade IF/OF Darnell Sweeney, OF Alex Verdugo to Athletics for Ben Zobrist
Zobrist can play multiple positions in both the outfield and in the infield, making him quite appealing to any team that could use an offensive boost. Los Angeles' offense is right around the league average, and getting a bat like Zobrist could put them in the MLB's top tier.
