LOS ANGELES — Kaiser Permanente Chairman-CEO Bernard J. Tyson and Los Angeles Clippers coach-President of Basketball Operations Doc Rivers are being honored today at the YMCA of Metropolitan Los Angeles’ 45th annual Martin Luther King Jr. Brotherhood Breakfast.
Tyson will receive the Martin Luther King Jr. Human Dignity Award, presented to an individual who most exemplifies the slain civil rights leader’s work and character.
Tyson is being honored for being a leader in the health care industry and providing affordable health care for all people, according to Erin Kane, the communications manager of the YMCA of Metropolitan Los Angeles.
