While the world keyed in on the DeAndre Jordan saga, a little nugget hit the internet: to bolster the frontcourt heading into training camp, Shams Charania, then with Real GM but now with Yahoo Sports, reported the Los Angeles Clippers had agreed to a training camp deal with center Yanick Moreira, who started at center for the Clippers during the Orlando Pro Summer league — Moreira averaged 9.6 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 2.2 blocks in five games.
Months later, it looks as if Moreira and his agent had a change of mind as Charania revealed more news about the centers training camp affiliation, reporting the big man had agreed to a non-guaranteed deal with the Brooklyn Nets, an attempt to bolster the Southern Methodist product’s chance of making the cut for a regular season roster — late summer additions of Chuck Hayes and Nikoloz Tskitishvili likely factored in Moreira’s decision.
