NEW ORLEANS – Everyone offered a different reason for the recent funk.
The Clippers bounced back from their first losing streak since December to beat the Rockets on the second game of a back-to-back, then followed by falling to a shorthanded Grizzlies team that had lost its previous four games and a shorthanded Pelicans team that lost five of its previous six games entering Sunday.
Without using it as an excuse, head coach Doc Rivers pointed to fatigue as a possibility, an understandable and somewhat inevitable weakness when playing 22 hours after the previous night’s game.
