PLAYA VISTA – Blake Griffin will try and do the same workout he normally does, and J.J. Redick will eat his regular pregame meal at the regular time.
But for Doc Rivers, the first preseason game Friday is a trip to the basketball laboratory.
“I probably go into these games more as a mad scientist,” the Clippers coach said before Thursday’s practice.
The first experiment probably will include former Laker Wesley Johnson replacing Matt Barnes in the starting lineup. Rivers said the move would “most likely” happen when the Clippers host Denver Friday night at Staples Center.
