LOS ANGELES – Chris Paul isn’t getting inducted into the Hall of Fame this weekend, but he will be receiving an award as part of the festivities.
The Clippers’ veteran point guard is set to join NBA analyst Jalen Rose and University of Memphis head coach Tubby Smith as the winners of the 2016 Mannie Jackson – Basketball’s Human Spirit Award, getting recognized Thursday at the Reunion Dinner during Enshrinement Weekend.
The award, established in 2007, is presented to leaders in basketball for their humanitarian efforts and positive impacts off the court. The winners of the award “must reflect the values of Mannie Jackson’s life-long mission to overcome obstacles and challenge the status quo, while taking responsibility for his or her actions and seeking the highest standard of excellence.
