HOUSTON – Someday, Paul Pierce will be in the Hall of Fame, a reward for years as one of the NBA’s most solid stars. But Wednesday, he wanted to talk with a “Western” accent.
“Dat dere yonder,” Pierce said over and over again.
He had watched Quentin Tarantino’s “The Hateful Eight” earlier in the day. A paraphrased review – He liked it AND fell asleep an hour into it.
Inspired by the movie, Pierce unleashed his Kurt Russell impersonation on anyone within earshot – trainers, staff, reporters, teammates.
“Dat dere yonder.”
Each time, he laughed.
