It would have been fitting for Bill Walton to peddle his bicycle to the arena.
In addition toward fulfilling his daily fix to keep himself happy and healthy, Walton’s preferred method of transportation and exercise also became part of the Portland Trail Blazers’ lore. During the Blazers’ championship parade to commemorate their 1977 NBA title, Walton’s bike disappeared into the large crowd.
Walton will not have to field any concerns about losing his bike when the Trail Blazers (19-27) honor the 40th anniversary of their 1977 championship team when they host the Lakers (16-32) on Wednesday at Moda Center.
