Los Angeles Clippers Vault: Remembering Loy Vaught

On the cusp of what is expected by most to be the Los Angeles Clippers’ defining season — complete with championship or bust expectations — I began to wax nostalgia concerning some of the hard-luck Clippers teams of the ’90s. Of all the players to come through Clipper Kingdom during the long-suffering final decade of the previous millennium, one player came to mind as epitomizing that era to me.

That player was none other than Loy Vaught. At 6’9″ and 240 lbs, he was seemingly less man than granite-chiseled statue. He truly cut an imposing figure in his Clippers uniform that he proudly wore for eight standout seasons.
