LA Clippers president of basketball operations Lawrence Frank was named the 2019-20 NBA Basketball Executive of the Year Thursday, the team’s GM winning the award by a fairly sizable margin.
Frank picked up 61 points in the vote, decided by fellow NBA executives, with the Oklahoma City Thunder’s Sam Presti garnering 41 points and Miami Heat’s Pat Riley picking up 39 points.
Crucially, voters were asked to vote on the season through March 11, when the NBA season shut down due to the coronavirus pandemic, not taking into account the pre-playoff seeding games in the Orlando bubble.
