LA Clippers decline to exercise third-year team option on Brice Johnson

The UNC product’s days in Los Angeles appear to be numbered. In a somewhat surprising move, the LA Clippers decided to decline their 2018-2019 team option for Brice Johnson. Johnson will become an unrestricted free agent next summer.

Johnson never got the opportunity to break through into the Clipper’s lineup during his rookie season. He only appeared in 3 games for the team, averaging scoring only 4 points in 9 minutes of play. Johnson spent most of the 2016-2017 season playing for Salt Lake City Stars in the D-League. He averaged 12.2 ppg and 6.5 rpg for the Stars.
