Jeff Ayres hadn’t even been told the good news, that Clippers coach Doc Rivers was going to give him a second 10-day contract, when a reporter told him before the Clippers defeated Chicago Bulls 120-93 on Sunday afternoon.
The Etiwanda High graduate smiled big.
“Thanks for sharing the good news,” he said. “It means a lot. It’s awesome to get that feeling to know ... I didn’t play very much, but it’s good that they feel like I earned another (contract), and it’s awesome.”
Ayers has played only 10 minutes in three games since signing his first contract with the Clippers on Jan.
