ANAHEIM – Even with Coach Randy Carlyle sticking with his policy of not confirming his starting goaltender, John Gibson will get the nod for the Ducks in Game 1 of the Western Conference first-round series against the Calgary Flames tonight at Honda Center.
Gibson finished the regular season with a 25-16-9 record, 2.22 goals-against average and .924 save percentage. In the playoffs, the Pittsburgh native is just 2-4 with a 2.84 goals-against in six games. He did not play against the Flames in the teams’ 2015 second-round series.
But in eight career games against Calgary, Gibson is 7-1-0 with a 1.
