Final: Clippers come up short against Warriors

OAKLAND – This game was always going to tell us more about the Clippers than it was about Golden State.

The Warriors are a known commodity. They’ve returned virtually everyone from a historically great team. They’ve run through the competition early in the season.

They’re the best.

The Clippers, on the other hand, are still figuring things out. The bench has been retooled, the starting lineup has changed and the defensive schemes have been altered.

We don’t know if the Clippers are better; it’s only five games into the season. But even after Wednesday’s 112-108 loss to the Warriors, we know they’re more equipped for big moments and bigger challenges.
