Doc Rivers refutes report of a return to Orlando Magic

LOS ANGELES >> Doc Rivers forcefully refuted a report that he is considering an offseason exit from the Clippers that would lead him back to the Orlando Magic, the team with which he got his start in coaching.

“I have a past with the Magic,” Rivers said Saturday. “I have no future. My future’s here.”

Rivers is in the third year of a five-year contract to serve as both the Clippers head coach and president basketball operations. However, with Blake Griffin, Chris Paul and J.J. Redick all set to hit free agency, there is a league-wide expectation that the Clippers roster could undergo a significant shakeup if the Clippers fail to make a deep run in the playoffs.
