LOS ANGELES – The lob wasn’t there.
Needing a basket after a timeout, the Clippers went to one of their highest-percentage options, a play that’s defined the team for the better part of the past five years.
But Minnesota had it covered – at least that option.
The play had a counter built into it, a Plan B, and up until Sunday, it was the kind of thing the Clippers would’ve maybe botched.
But J.J. Redick perfectly curled around the top of the 3-point line, took the handoff from Blake Griffin and drained the 3-point shot, sending their Clippers on their way to a 107-99 win.
