Per Michael Scotto of Basketball Insiders, the Clippers will pick up the option for the 4th year of Sam Dekker’s rookie deal. This means he will be signed to the Clippers through the 2018-2019 season.
Dekker hasn’t received much playing time yet for the Clippers, appearing in only 5 games and averaging a mere 6.4 minutes per game, but they clearly like him enough to want him on the team going forward— even if it’s just as an asset in a future trade.
Sam came over as part of the Chris Paul trade, and was one of two young rotation players that Houston had to part with in exchange for the superstar point guard (the other being Montrezl Harrell).
