The Clippers announced Thursday that they have signed rookie Diamond Stone to a contract.
Stone has a two-year deal that’s guaranteed, with a starting salary of about $543,000.
Stone, selected in the second round (40th overall) by the Clippers, averaged 10.4 points and 5.6 rebounds in five games during the summer league in Orlando, Fla., earlier this month.
The 6-foot-11, 255-pound center averaged 12.5 points and 5.4 rebounds last season at Maryland.
The Clippers didn’t sign rookie David Michineau because the team is mulling over what course to take with the point guard.
