Clippers sign Brandon Bass for vet’s minimum

Forward Brandon Bass agreed to a one-year deal with the Clippers for the veteran’s minimum of $1.55 million, according to the Times.

Bass is familiar with Los Angeles after playing his first and final year with the Lakers in 2015-16. The 6-8 forward averaged 7.2 points and 4.3 rebounds last season.

The former Lakers forward signed his two-year, $6.1 million deal last season. Bass exercised his player option to become a free agent earlier in the offseason.

He is also familiar with Clippers head coach Doc Rivers, as Bass played two seasons under Rivers in Boston.
