Unfortunately for Branden Dawson, this doesn’t come as a surprise. As is typically the case with rookies playing under Doc Rivers, they struggle to get playing time and that was particularly the case for Dawson in the Clippers’ talented frontcourt last season. Despite his defensive potential and energy, his offensive game wasn’t nearly polished enough for him to play outside of garbage time, and now he will be waived after the veteran acquisition of Brandon Bass.
It’s what we saw coming, and now Dan Woike of the Orange County Register has reported it.
