LOS ANGELES – Ralph W. Lawler brought his family, including his young son Ralph, to the corner of Hollywood and Vine 70 years ago this summer.
“I was a star-struck 8-year old,” the Clippers broadcaster remembered.
Thursday, he official became one of them.
Lawler was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, fittingly steps from that iconic intersection. He joins legendary Los Angeles broadcasters Chick Hearn, Vin Scully and Bob Miller, who also have stars.
It’s the 2,575th star awarded.
Considering Lawler’s history with show buisness – his father owned a theater chain and he worked in radio – Thursday’s honor carried a lot of weight.
