LOS ANGELES – The protein shakes and weight machines haven’t been as necessary for the Clippers as chicken broth and blankets.
Like so many NBA teams, the Clippers are fighting viral warfare, with players and staff dealing with a string of illnesses.
Clippers coach Doc Rivers was the latest to deal with flu-like symptoms, causing him to miss Tuesday’s practice and Wednesday’s shootaround.
“I’ve never missed a practice in my career being sick until the other day – nothing I’m used to,” Rivers said. “But this year you’ve heard about it more, for sure. Our team has gone through it, even our office.
