Clippers lose to Heat in Summer League tournament

LAS VEGAS >> Second-year big man Brice Johnson had 13 points and six rebounds, but the Clippers lost to the Miami Heat, 91-84, in a round-of-16 game of the NBA Summer League tournament on Thursday afternoon at Thomas & Mack Center.

Jamil Wilson had 11 points and Kendall Marshall added 10 for the fifth-seeded Clippers (3-1), but No. 12 Miami (4-1) prevailed behind the trio of Okaro White (23 points, eight rebounds), Justin Robinson (22 points, six assists, four steals) and Gian Clavell (20 points).

Clippers draft picks Sindarius Thornwell (nine points) and Jawun Evans (six points, three assists) played 29 and 13 minutes, respectively.
