Late in the Clippers’ thrilling win against the Portland Trail Blazers last night, L.A. shooting guard Austin Rivers suffered a gruesome (but thankfully minor) hand injury while driving to the basket in the closing seconds. His pinky finger was dislocated in a really unpleasant-to-look-at way, and he was letting out a pretty horrific scream that came from a combination of pain and shock at the ugliness of the injury.
Teammate Patrick Beverley calmed Rivers as trainer Jasen Powell relocated the finger, and Rivers did briefly stay in the game but fouled out just seconds later.
