For all their victories, for all their solid performances and successes over the years, few have happened for the Clippers in New Jersey.
The Clippers have not beaten the Nets on the road since 2007 when Chris Kaman and Tim Thomas were on the team. That streak includes last season’s two-point loss after the Clippers carried an eight-point lead into the fourth quarter.
Determined to avoid a repeat (barely) and start a new trend, the Clippers held on Saturday and defeated the Nets in Brooklyn, 105-100.
It was neither pretty nor easy.
Much like the last time the Clippers stepped foot in the Barclay Center, they led by 14 points (77-63) heading into the fourth quarter and had pushed their lead to 18.
