Unless the Los Angeles Clippers make a move before Thursday afternoon, they could be the only team in the NBA without a pick when the draft commences at 4 p.m. from Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y.
When the Clippers signed Doc Rivers to be their coach before the 2013-14 season, they had to give up this year’s first-round draft pick to the Boston Celtics. Their second-round pick belongs to the Denver Nuggets for a 2009 deal made for center Cheikh Samb along with cash considerations. Samb is no longer in the league.
That said, a league source told this newspaper it’s possible the Clippers could make a last-minute deal that would bring them a second-round pick.
