Per Marc Stein of the New York Times, the Clippers are adding Tyronn Lue as a “top assistant” to Doc Rivers on the coaching staff. Lue was in an “informal role” with the Clippers last season, but will officially join the staff in a leading role for the upcoming year. In a follow-up tweet from Stein, he referred to Lue as being a “likely associate head coach”, signifying his importance.
Lue has been on Doc’s coaching staff before. In fact, he was an assistant with the Clippers under Doc back in 2013-2014 before leaving to join the Cleveland Cavaliers.
