Chick Hearn retired when he was 85, and Vin Scully, then 88, signed off from his final Dodgers broadcast at the end of last season. Scully’s retirement left Lawler, the Clippers’ play-by-play man since 1985, and Miller, his hockey counterpart with the Kings, as the remaining voices of a bygone era.
