Though it came in a losing effort, Clippers shooting guard C.J. Wilcox scored 22 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in the Bakersfield Jam season opening lost to the defending D-League champion Santa Cruz Warriors.
Rarely deviating from the scouting report attached to the guard when entering the NBA, Wilcox laid his impact on the game by way of his jump shot, shooting 8-of-14 from the field, 3-of-7 from three, and 3-of-3 from the free-throw line. And while the translation of his jumper was the show (at least in regards to his play in the D-League), the real beauty was seeing Wilcox create for himself against near-NBA level athletes.
