The Chargers’ move north means greater Los Angeles will get Antonio Gates and Philip Rivers.
For a longer period, L.A. and Orange County will have the Spanoses.
Chances are that Gates, a much-decorated Chargers tight end who will turn 37 in June, will catch not one pass on the fake grass in Inglewood where the Chargers will play starting in 2019.
By then Rivers will be 37 and entering the final year of his current contract.
The Spanoses, by and large, will be around a lot longer.
They own the franchise.
