Twelve years ago, Malcom Floyd earned the chance to play late in the season as an undrafted rookie.

His current situation might allow an undrafted rookie to do the same.

Floyd hasn't practiced this week due to a Nov. 9 torn labrum. While his status against the Chiefs won't be made official until Friday's injury report, it seems likely he'll be sidelined, and there are growing indications that wide receiver Tyrell Williams will be promoted from the practice squad by Saturday afternoon.
