The Chargers are entering the 2024 season with a shallow cornerback room headlined by 2021 second-round pick Asante Samuel Jr. The Florida State alum has been the team’s CB1 for the better part of the past three seasons while being one of the most-consistent players in the room that saw some questionable stretches from Michael Davis, on top of the JC Jackson debacle.
Samuel has done admirably being the backbone of this group. So much so that some believe he should be in line for an extension as soon as this current offseason. ESPN’s Aaron Schatz actually believes inking Samuel to a new deal should be the last cherry on top of what has been a pretty good offseason for the Bolts.
