Remember when wearing Chargers garb brought San Diegans together?
Now the same Bolts attire can elicit dismay, even scorn.
At least, so it did Monday for 49-year-old Alberto Mier y Teran when he got his car washed in Mission Valley a few miles from the old Chargers stadium.
“I’m wearing a Chargers jacket,” he said, “and the attendant starts talking to me like, ‘I can’t believe you’re wearing that jacket.'
“People are upset.” Mier y Teran said. “They are angry, very angry.”
Dean Spanos said last week he will move the Chargers to greater Los Angeles for the 2017 season, and many to follow.
