After much speculation and political bickering, we finally get to see some actual substance as the CSAG is set to release their financing plan today, May 18th.
We knew the Citizens Stadium Advisory Council – the group appointed by San Diego Mayor Kevin Faulconer to spearhead the search for a viable stadium plan in San Diego – was expected to announce their financing plan on May 20th. Well, Christmas has come early this year because the CSAG will be announcing their financing plan todayat 1:00PM PDT.
The announcement will be held at the San Diego County Operations Center, and speakers include:
- Adam Day, Chairman, CSAG
- Jerry Sanders, President & CEO of the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce (and former mayor of San Diego)
- Nick Hardwick, former Pro Bowl Center who played for the Chargers his entire 10-year career
- Rafael Alvarez, who heads Bolt Pride and helps lead Save Our Bolts, which represent more than 20,000 Chargers fans
- Dan Meis, Founder and Managing Principal at MEIS, a New York-based stadium architecture and design firm
In addition to the above-mentioned speakers, the CSAG will also be providing renderings and a model of a the proposed multi-use stadium in Mission Valley.
