It was late 2015, long before Jared Goff and Carson Wentz were the established top two picks in this week’s draft. The college quarterbacks were looking for mentorship, someone to prepare them for the draft and NFL. There was no better guide, Lindley offered in separate meetings, than a quarterback who’d done it himself.
