San Diego Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers rewrote the franchise record books in Sunday's 27-20 loss to the Green Bay Packers, setting Chargers single-game records for completions (43), pass attempts (65) and passing yards (503), per the Chargers' official Twitter.
Despite his effort, the Chargers couldn't pull off the victory and dropped to 2-4 on the season. With just 86.7 rushing yards per game, San Diego has really struggled to rush the ball, resulting in a pass-heavy attack that has Rivers atop the NFL's leaderboard for passing yards.
In addition to Sunday's 503-yard effort, Rivers topped 350 passing yards in three of his other five games this season, with a total of 2,116 through just six games.
