Reports: Ladarius Green headed to Steelers

According to NFL reports, ex-Chargers tight end Ladarius Green will join the Steelers pending a physical exam.

Green joined the Chargers in 2012 as a fourth-round draft pick of A.J. Smith's.

A speedster for the position, the 6-foot-6 Green had a breakout season, averaging 22.1 yard per catch for coach Mike McCoy's first Chargers team. In the Wild Card upset at Cincinnati that followed, he caught a touchdown pass.

He lost playing time in 2014 to tight end and mentor Antonio Gates, who had 12 touchdown catches.

In 2015, with Gates on suspension for the initial four games, Green emerged as a key player in the season-opening victory over the Detroit Lions.
