REPORT: Stevie Johnson (knee) out for year

The San Diego Chargers finally received news on Chargers WR Stevie Johnson (meniscus), but it wasn’t the news they wanted to hear.

NFL Media insider’s Ian Rapoport reported on Wednesday that Johnson will miss the 2016 season.

Meniscus surgery for #Chargers WR Stevie Johnson was successful, but it'll require months of rehab. A freak injury knocks him out for 2016

It’s tough to see Johnson go down. Johnson, who turned 30 years old in July, signed a three-year, $10.5 million deal last season. Unfortunately, he wasn’t able to stay on the field in his first year as a Charger, missing six games due to hamstring and groin injuries.
