The calls for Mayor Kevin Faulconer to reveal his stand on the Chargers’ stadium initiative — and the speculation about which way he’ll go — have been ramping up in recent days.
For weeks some serious people, not all of them aligned with the Chargers, quietly have been saying that Faulconer will support Measure C, the team’s hotel-tax increase that would help build a stadium and convention center facility downtown.
Some found that hard to believe given his past positions on tax increases, not to mention his preferred stadium plan for Mission Valley. But about two dozen influential San Diegans seem to think there’s something to it because they just sent the mayor a letter urging him to oppose Measure C.
