Philip Rivers’ team tried to screw it up, but fell just short. Rivers didn’t have the numbers, but he did a masterful job handling things. Remained calm, although constantly pressured. Rivers, who was in high school when Lamar Jackson was born, at least didn’t throw a pick on the first series, but another slow start — and middle and end. Throwing down field wasn’t much of an option. Great field position all day.
