According to the team’s website, wide receiver Mike Williams will miss the rest of offseason workouts due to a mild disc herniation in his lower back. Williams, the No. 7 overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, had yet to participate in OTAs.
Williams’ plan is to avoid back surgery. According to NFL.com, the former Clemson wideout could be a candidate to begin training camp on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list if he’s not fully healthy.
The Chargers need Williams to heal quickly in order to catch up with the rest of the team, as he was already falling behind.
