Measure C opponents speak out, while Mayor reportedly endorses stadium plan

SAN DIEGO (CBS 8/CNS) - Opponents of the Chargers initiative to build a stadium and convention center annex in downtown San Diego plan to ratchet up their campaign Monday, just hours after news broke that Mayor Kevin Faulconer has officially endorsed the plan.

Faulconer told The San Diego Union-Tribune he had come to support the initiative known as Measure C on the Nov. 8 ballot after Chargers executives agreed to cover any cost overrides related to the construction or land purchases, guaranteed that the city's general fund would not be used and, among other concessions, turn over to the city revenue generated from non-NFL events.
