Dexter McCluster has the crazy gene and the Chargers believe in it, having installed “Dex” as their punt return man.
So, when the Atlanta Falcons punt the ball this Sunday, McCluster will look toward the roof of the Georgia Dome.
Squeamish folks will cover their eyes.
McCluster is 5-foot-8 and 170 pounds.
His pursuers are much larger, by as much as 100 pounds, and may have as long as five seconds to bear down on him before the ball arrives.
McCluster is used to hearing incredulous queries about his line of work.
