There was a slew of notable NFL players that were cut from their respective teams on Friday as teams made their moves to open up salary cap space for the new league year. The Los Angeles Chargers were one of those teams, as they made four notable moves on Friday, three of which saved salary cap space.
The team cut veterans Thomas Davis and Brandon Mebane, both of whom were in the last year of their contract with the Chargers and saved the team $9.5 million. The team also restructured Denzel Perryman‘s contract, as he can now earn the $6 million he was going to earn this season through incentives.
