We have been predicting it for months now, but the Los Angeles Chargers today finally released Pro Bowl Special Teamer Darrell Stuckey following a failed physical. The team’s official Twitter account announced the news:
Stuckey has spent his entire seven-year professional career with the Chargers. He was a Pro Bowler, a five-time team captain and the Chargers Walter Payton Man of the Year in 2015. He has been a productive player and an exemplary teammate for seven years, but his cap number this season clearly exceeded his expected value on the field. The National Football League is a business and it is no surprise that this resulted in Stuckey getting released by the team that drafted in the fourth round back in the 2010 NFL Draft.
