Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert has a fracture to his rib cartilage, coach Brandon Staley said Friday.
Herbert is day-to-day, Staley said.
Herbert suffered the injury during Los Angeles' 27-24 loss to Kansas City on Thursday night when he was hit by Chiefs defensive end Mike Danna with 5:09 remaining in the game.
After lying on the field for an extended period, Hebert missed one play before returning. He then was immediately crushed between Chiefs pass-rushers Frank Clark and George Karlaftis but remained in the game.
