HOUSTON -- In the midst of a flurry of news on the team’s possible relocation to Los Angeles, the San Diego Chargers announced that linebackers coach Mike Nolan has moved on to pursue other opportunities.
In his place, the Chargers hired former Jacksonville Jaguars defensive coordinator Bob Babich.
Nolan only worked as the linebackers coach for the Chargers for one season, but was generally well-liked by players. Under Nolan’s guidance, San Diego’s linebackers, including Manti Te'o, Denzel Perryman, Melvin Ingram and Jeremiah Attaochu, developed into the foundation of defense during the backstretch of the 2015 season.
