SAN DIEGO -- For the better part of a decade, safety Eric Weddle served as the leader of the defense for the San Diego Chargers.
But with Weddle departing to the Baltimore Ravens in free agency, the Chargers brought in another experienced safety, veteran Dwight Lowery to help anchor the secondary.
So far, Chargers defensive coordinator John Pagano has been pleased with what he’s seen from the San Jose State product.
“He’s doing great,” Pagano said. “He’s really gotten comfortable in the system now learning the calls. It’s always about us, not the opponent.
