On Thursday afternoon, the Chargers announced that quarterback Justin Herbert suffered a plantar fascia injury on his right following Wednesday’s practice. The injury was diagnosed followed the conclusion of practice and Herbert did not miss any snaps because of it.
Per the team, doctors have recommended that Herbert spends the next two weeks in a walking boot, following by a “graduated return to play protocol” en route to being ready for the first week of the regular season. Herbert was not expected to play any snaps during the preseason anyway, but he’ll miss some important snaps throughout the rest of camp, including through the team’s joint practices which are always good to have in the ramp-up to the new season.
